Can I buy a home in Spain if I live abroad?

Generally, yes: non-residents can buy property in Spain. You will need a Spanish tax identification number (NIE). Property ownership and the right to live in Spain are separate matters, so take independent advice on any visa or residency requirements.

How do we choose the right area?

We start with what you want from daily life. The coves around Begur and Palafrugell, the stone villages around Pals and the countryside of the Empordà each offer something different. Together, we explore the places that fit your lifestyle and budget.

What should I allow for on top of the price?

Your budget should include purchase taxes, notary and registry fees, independent legal advice and, where relevant, mortgage and currency exchange costs. The total depends on the property and your circumstances.

Can my search begin before I travel?

Absolutely. We can discuss your priorities, budget and possible locations while you are still abroad. A considered shortlist then gives your visit a focus, with time to compare homes and experience the neighbourhoods in person.

Could I let my property to holidaymakers?

Buying a home does not automatically give you permission for holiday rentals. Rules and licences vary by municipality and property. If letting is part of your plan, an independent lawyer should confirm the current permissions and restrictions before you buy.
